You are buying 20 Wild Heartleaf ginger, (Hexastylis arifolia) has beautiful evergreen foilage frequently decorated with an intricate, mottled pattern of silver or cream; frequently bears only one or two leaves in dry Piedmont woods, but in humus-rich locations it is not uncommon to find spectacular clumps bearing a dozen to two dozen leaves. Plant can survive with very little sun if it has sufficient moisture, but needs well-drained soil.
Brush away the leaf litter to reveal the flowers to kids in spring time.

I was really hoping that I wouldn’t have to do this but it seems that the people at Todd’s Native Nursery (aka Bluffview Nursery) have left me no choice. On the positive side, I bought from them about 10 years ago in the fall and received all of the rhizomes, bulbs and roots I ordered in a few weeks. Though many of them were not in good condition enough of them (about 40%) grew the following spring to justify the purchase. One pleasant surprise was that they sent Green Dragon instead of the Jack-in-the-Pulpit I ordered. They are colonizing nicely now.
I ordered again this year on April 9th and the package arrived on April 28th. This time the rhizomes, bulbs and roots were better than last time but the order was missing 12 trillium, 24 Jack-in-the-Pulpit and 24 Pink Lady’s Slipper. I Emailed them on April 29th and on May 4th, I never got a reply. Now they have a customer poor track record if you look them up but I would be happy if they replied and said that the items are on back-order or if they gave me an option to substitute. Unfortunately that’s not the case. I will open up a complaint ticket with my credit card company and have them look into it. Hopefully I’ll get a partial refund. It’s too bad, they carry some difficult-to-find plants.
